The Analog to MIDI Translator (Monophonic) - AMT(M).app - is a an application that translates audio from a guitar or violin to MIDI version 1. This enables you to play software synthesizers as monophonic instruments. The application also provides a network connection to TouchDesigner. The software download includes an example TouchDesigner file to get your started.

Analog To MIDI Translator (Polyphonic)

The Analog to MIDI Translator (Polyphonic) - AMT(P).app - is a companion program to the breakout board projects. A breakout board takes the 13-pin DIN cable (used by hexaphonic pickups such as Roland's GK-3 and Graph Tech's Ghost system) and splits each string's pickup into a separate audio output. This system enables you to play polyphonic, software synthesizers in MIDI version 2 and MIDI version 1. In MIDI 2, the application includes modulation and aftertouch controls, utilizing MPE (MIDI Polyphonic Expression). The application also provides a network connection to TouchDesigner that supports the polyphonic data. The software download includes an example TouchDesigner file to get your started.

Stacker for AMT(P)

Stacker is an Audio Unit plugin host that compliments the AMT(P) application. It supports the simultaneous playing of 5 MIDI plugin instruments from the MIDI output of AMT(P) and 3 audio plugins (like amplifier emulators) from the analog pickup output. Stacker supports up to 20 settings. For each AU, it supports up to 10 presets.

Remote Control for Stacker
Application: StackerController.app

The Stacker Controller enables you to rapidly select settings and plugin presets over a local network or on the same computer. It provides a matrix interface that simplifies the selection of complex combinations of plugins and their presets, reducing the selection task to a single click for real time switching while playing.

Polyphonic Emulator
Application: AMT(P)Emulator.app for Mac, AMT(P)Emulator.exe for Windows

The Polyphonic Emulator replicates the MIDI and JSON output of the AMT(P) application through a simple interface, obviating the need for a guitar or violin setup while creating TouchDesigner networks that respond to a live performance. The application enables a visual artist to simulate the output which would come from AMT(P) during a performance by a guitar or violin, decoupling their design process from the actual instrument. It is provided as a Max MSP application for Windows or a Max project with an example TouchDesigner network, enabling artists to work in either a Mac or Windows environment.
